City Lights

Set near Central Park South, the bustle of traffic and pedestrians are calmed by the pacing of a lone horse carriage.  The top hat of the rider, like the umbrellas of passers-by, deflects the falling snow that quiets the scene and imbues a sense of holiday spirit and a quest for comfort.  The lanterns, clothing and vehicles are all of an era as vibrant yet gentler than today.  The pointillist snow, detailed architecture and brilliant use of light and color make this a true masterpiece worthy of display anywhere.
